EPAL

Who They Are

Founded in 1991, the European Pallet Association e.V. (EPAL) is an international non-profit association responsible for organising the EPAL pallet pool, an open-loop reuse system for wooden pallets and steel box pallets. 

EPAL awards manufacturing and repair licences to independent operators subject to continuous, independent third-party inspections. With approximately 670 million EPAL Euro pallets and 20 million EPAL Box pallets currently in active circulation, EPAL operates the world's largest open pallet exchange infrastructure and is at the heart of industrial and retail supply chains in Europe.

Geographical Footprint

Headquartered in Düsseldorf, Germany, EPAL is active in over 50 countries in Europe, Asia and North and Central America with more than 1,750 licenced production and repair operations. It is supported by 14 EPAL National Committees and 4 international representative offices.

Woodpack Global

Who They Are

Founded in 1947, Woodpack Global is the leading international trade association representing the wooden pallet and packaging industry. It represents more than 820 member companies across 43 countries who manufacture, repair and distribute pallets and wood packaging in unit-load solutions, or who supply products and services to the industry. Woodpack Global has an active presence in the EU, USA and Mexico advancing advocacy, safety, sustainability, and innovation throughout the global supply chain. 

Woodpack Global developed the Pallet Design System™ (PDS), an industry-standard software for designing safer, stronger, more cost-effective pallets.

CJ Sheeran Group

Who They Are

CJ Sheeran is Ireland’s largest supplier of timber packaging and pallets, providing a premium quality, sustainable and accredited packaging solution. Notably, it is Ireland’s only vertically integrated timber packaging manufacturer and recycler.

Committed to sustainability, its core product range includes new timber pallets (including both standard and custom designs), reconditioned pallets; specialised/customised crates and boxes for secure transport, ISPM15 heat-treated pallets (certified for international shipping), and kiln-dried pallets (moisture-controlled for long-term use).

Euroblock

Who They Are

Euroblock is Europe's leading specialised supplier of composite pallet blocks and packaging timber components. As a joint venture between Germany’s Pfeifer Group and the Netherlands’ Presswood International B.V., the company has been building on the invention of the composite wood block since 1976. 

Euroblock transforms sawmill residues and woodchips into high-density, dimensionally uniform, ISPM15-compliant pallet blocks and covers over 42% of the European pallet block market share.

Foresco

Who They Are

Foresco is a major European player in the wood packaging sector, specialising in the manufacturing and processing of wooden pallets and customised industrial packaging. The company has a strong focus on quality, flexibility, reliability, sustainability, and safety. 

Its business activities include new pallet production, the collection and reconditioning of used pallets, and the provision of custom-made packaging solutions. Foresco also provides pallet-management services, including specialised sorting and repair services to pallet-pooling companies. Through its “Collect, Repair & Re-use” platform, Foresco works with customers and supply-chain partners to facilitate the return, management and reuse of pallets.

PGS Group

Who They Are

Palettes Gestion Services (PGS) was established in 1993 in Saint-Étienne du Rouvray, France. It is a European leader in new and reconditioned wooden pallets and custom timber packaging. 

PGS operates a vertically integrated business model that includes 4 sawmills, 18 production sites for pallets and 24 sites for reconditioning services. Every year, PGS produces around 25 million new pallets, and recovers 30 million recycled pallets.
